TEAM boss Cami Brown was delighted with the “gutsy” victory over Workington.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers made it six wins in succession after beating the Comets 48-42 at Ashfield on Friday night.
Chris Harris was once again outstanding for the Tigers with paid 14 along with Kyle Howarth and that pair sealed the success with a last heat 5-1.
Brown said: “We knew Workington were going to be a real handful. That’s how it proved.
“The track wasn’t like it was last Saturday. They were beating us out of the starts and the boys had to work very hard to get the points.
“It was too close for comfort. We’ve just got to take the positives.
“But to go six meetings unbeaten in this league it’s very good going.
“We are pushing hard to finish top of the league before the play-offs and this is a big result.
“All the boys delivered real grit and it was a gutsy performance to get over the line.
“It was a blow to lose Villads (Nagel). But we still got the result and that’s the main thing.
“Villads has been scoring big and we really missed him. Thankfully we just about got the job done.
“We now face two more meetings next week against Edinburgh on Wednesday in the KO Cup and then Oxford. It’s a massive week for the club.”
