GLASGOW boss Cami Brown admits leaving Scunthorpe pointless is a “disappointing” result.
The Tigers found themselves eight points down after just four heats on Friday as some of the visiting riders struggled to make an impact.
The visitors kept plugging away and headed into heat 15 with a chance of taking a point from the tie.
But an engine failure for Ben Basso killed any chances of adding to their SGB Championship tally, with the match ending 50-40.
Brown said: “We had too many last places and that’s what cost us.
“There were a couple of disappointments – Connor Bailey didn’t have a good night and Broc Nicol struggled.
“I thought Danyon Hume rode very well considering he had a heavy crash. Ben was very unlucky in heat 15 when his bike let him down – before that he was brilliant.
“Craig Cook was a bit better away from home too.
“The result wasn’t for the lack of trying but we finished last too often and we were passed too many times on the last corner.
“But we also have to credit the opposition, who rode very well.”
The result keeps the Tigers third in the table.
They have the chance to rectify things quickly when Scunthorpe visit Ashfield on Sunday.
Brown added: “We have to make amends on Sunday with a strong home win – we spoke to the riders about that straight after the meeting.
“We have to get our game heads on after the disappointment tonight.”
