The “Western Commercial” Tigers Promotion are giving supporters old and new the opportunity to see the team in action this week at signficantly reduced costs. Normal admission prices have been slashed for Sunday’s clash wih Sheffield, a team that everyone at Ashfield enjoys winning against, as the Tigers come towards the end of their 2012 campaign. Co-Promoter Alan Dick has dubbed the weekend “Sell Out Sunday” and admits there are many reasons why this experiment is being tried:
“Over the years that we have been at the helm, our supporters have been magnificent and we appreciate their loyalty through thick and thin. One thing though that they tell us is that it is very expensive and a lot of them have been unable to go as regularly as they would like due to the current financial climate, so this is a wee chance for us to give them a chance to come out one last time this season to support their speedway team. As everyone knows, we have the club up for sale and while I cannot say that we are in a position to announce any positive news yet, we are still hopeful as we continue talks with one potential new owner, and they would like nothing better than a huge crowd to show to them that there is a long term future for the club.
Adults can get in for just £10, which is a saving of nearly 40% on the usual price and hopefully many supporters who have perhaps not attended as much in recent weeks or seasons will take advantage of this offer and get along to support the “Western Commercial” Tigers.
On track we would love to finish the season strongly. Making the top 6 is almost impossible in the wake of us failing to win at Redcar, where once again consistency cost us as has been the case all season. I still believe that we are a very strong side but have, for some reason or another, not been able to all perform well on the same day. Sheffield was perhaps an excpetion to that where we won in dramatic fashion, and while I will be the first to admit, we got a bit lucky on the day, I definitely feel that we can go out this weekend and get a big win with some good racing to add to the mix.
I think this weekend is a very important one for the club, and I sincerely hope that the Glasgow fans, current and lapsed, come out and give the Tigers all the support that they can.”

The Tigers head to Plymouth on Friday for their longest trip of the season and then entertain Berwick next Sunday in their final scheduled home Premier League fixture of the season. There are still remaining fixtures at Scunthorpe, Workington and Edinburgh to fulfill the 2012 season.
