GLASGOW boss Cami Brown wants a “statement” win in a return to action at Ashfield.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers take on Redcar in a crunch Cab Direct Championship clash on Friday night.
It will be almost a month since the last meeting at home for the club.
He said: “It’s been really frustrating to have a month away from Ashfield right bang in the middle of summer.
“It’s just typical that we’ve had heatwaves but some Fridays have been a wash out in Glasgow.
“But we can’t control that, all we can do is be ready for Redcar on Friday.
“They are a terrific side with a spearhead of Charles Wright and Danny King who are in-form.
“Unfortunately we are without Leon Flint who is on Great Britain duty. But Tate Zischke guests and he has been in excellent form.
“It’s exciting to get back to Ashfield and we really need a good run of fixtures now. It’s about winning meetings and getting that momentum back we had in the first month or so of the season. I want a statement win from the boys to show what we are all about.
“Dan (Thompson) has been in excellent form again over the past couple of weeks and Villads (Nagel) scored 11 for Denmark in the Euro Under-24 Championship.
“We seem to be in good shape again but we want to get some wins under our belt. The fixtures come thick and fast after Friday so that will be good for us.
“It’ll be good for Villads to get some meetings at Ashfield. It’s crazy he’s only had one meeting for us so far. He’s such an exciting signing for the club.”
Flint returned from injury to race for Great Britain with eight points on an awful surface in Ludwigslust.
He said: “The track was extremely difficult but we battled until the end to get the job done.
“The shoulder has definitely felt better, but if I managed to get through today, I think I’ll be ready for anything.
“Super proud of the boys and looking forward to the Final in Macon in a few weeks.”
