TIGERS boss Cami Brown says his team need to find “bouncebackability” against Birmingham.
His side suffered a shock home defeat and crashed out of the KO Cup at the hands of Redcar on Tuesday night.
Now they face the Brummies at Ashfield Stadium tonight (Friday) in their opening Cab Direct Championship clash and Brown has vowed they will come out fighting.
He said: “There’s no doubt about it, losing to Redcar hurt us big time. But we can’t sit around feeling sorry for ourselves.
“It’s a good thing that we have another home meeting so quickly and we can get a reaction against Birmingham. The boys have got to show some bouncebackability.
“I believe in this team. There’s a lot of mental strength. But this is a big test of their character now. They now have to go out and prove what they are made of.
“Birmingham are no mugs. They have their strongest team for some time now and they come to Ashfield with a lot of track knowledge.”
The big news for Tigers is that Ben Basso will return after missing Tuesday’s meeting with a broken finger.
Brown admitted it was a huge blow to lose the flying Dane. He added: “We were a bit flat without Ben. He’s been the top rider in the Championship this season so far and obviously we missed his presence.
“We want him back as soon as possible. But all the team need to kick on now and deliver against Birmingham. The track caught out the lower end of the side, we can’t let that happen again.”
