GLASGOW team boss Cami Brown has warned his team of the Berwick threat at Ashfield.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers face Berwick in a crunch final BSN Series qualification clash at Ashfield Stadium tonight.
After the Bandits did the double over Edinburgh, Glasgow must now win the aggregate bonus point to guarantee their place in the semi-finals.
Brown said: “I’ve warned the boys there cannot be any complacency. The Bandits are on a big high after two excellent wins over Edinburgh. They will arrive at Ashfield with their tails up.
“All their boys know Ashfield really well. We just cannot allow them any opportunities to get in front.
“We’ve obviously gone a week without racing at home which is not ideal but something we have to deal with more often it seems in the sport.
“All the team have been racing for their other teams, so they’ll still be sharp.
“These are the sort of meetings you want though. We like a bit of tension and pressure. This is the first trophy up for grabs and we want to get to the last four. It all comes down to 15 heats.
“I’m confident in the team we have. It’s obviously just a bit nerve-wracking with so many of the boys racing in other teams. You just want a full strength side and no injuries.”
Brown admits he can’t wait to get back to Ashfield after the win at Shielfield Park.
He added: “I think we want a run of meetings now to get really firing. We’ve got Berwick then another toughie against Oxford before going to Scunthorpe.
“All the boys are loving racing for the Tigers this year. The spirit is off the scale. I can’t remember having a better team spirit at the club. In my mind that can be worth six points a meeting.
“The main thing now is to get more competitive laps in at Ashfield. We really want a strong home advantage. That will be vital this season because of the aggregate bonus point.
“I feel confident we can get that. All the team were happy with their performances against Edinburgh but they all know there’s room for improvement.
“Berwick will be another stern test. That will be a good yardstick to see what we have to achieve before facing a very good Oxford side who have an outstanding top three.”
