BROWN ADMITS “CHALLENGE”

TEAM boss Cami Brown admits it will be a huge “challenge” to keep up a great record against Berwick.

The Allied Vehicles Tigers go to Shielfield Park tonight (Saturday) in the first BSN Series clash.

Brown’s side have won 14 of the last 16 encounters between the clubs ahead of the clash.

He said: “I don’t really look at stats. Every meeting is a blank canvas. Berwick are a very different proposition this season.

“We lost the same fixture a year ago and the Bandits look strong on their home track.

“It was massively disappointing that our fixture at Ashfield was rained off last night. I think our younger boys need more bike time, so that was a blow.

“Nonetheless we will go to Shielfield confident of giving them a close encounter.

“They have a great spearhead of Craig Cook and Peter Kildemand this season, so they will be strong, that’s for sure.

“But we equally have a fabulous top two of Chris Harris and Kyle Howarth.

“It’s going to be a really interesting meeting and we need to try and get our BSN Series off to the best possible start.

“I expect to see a big army of Glasgow fans on the back straight at Shielfield and they are always very noisy. Let’s hope we can get a good result for them.”
