TIGERS boss Cami Brown was delighted with a “super-strong” home win over Plymouth.
The Allied Vehicles Tigers took a hard-fought 53-37 victory over the batting Gladiators at Ashfield on Friday night.
Dan Thompson returned to the team with 10 points after a month out with a broken scaphoid and new boy Villads Nagel picked up his first paid race win.
Home No.1 Chris Harris picked himself up from a nasty opening race crash to top score with 13 points.
Brown said: “That was our most dominant home performance of the season. We looked super-strong once again.
“Dan came back from injury and was fantastic. He’s far from 100 per cent fit but only dropped two points.
“Villads had a tough night of bike issues but his paid win showed just how good this kid is.
“I can’t fault anyone to be honest. The reserves got out for an excellent 5-1 in Heat 2 and Freddy Hodder rode his heart out all night.
“Max Perry was equally great and I’m particularly delighted to see the young lads produce a meeting like that.
“It’s so good for us to deliver that sort of performance, we need to do that at Ashfield more often.”
Nagel had mechanical problems all night but still produced a stunning pass of both Plymouth riders in Heat 6.
Brown added: “Villads will obviously take some time to settle. He’s disappointed tonight but that’s because he’s a young lad hungry to impress.
“I’m sure he’ll get it right very soon. He’s been hugely impressive so far.”
