GLASGOW are preparing for their biggest weekend of the season so far – as they face a repeat of the 2019 Championship final against one of their major rivals.
The Tigers go head-to-head with Leicester Lions twice in the space of 24 hours as the race for the play-offs continues.
Just four points separate the teams, who sit first and sixth respectively.
The fixture always captures the imagination, with former Glasgow boss Stewart Dickson taking on his successor Cami Brown.
Dickson left Ashfield last time with the league trophy in his hands, and Brown is determined to ensure Leicester are given a tougher time of it on Friday night.
He said: “Our biggest rivalry is against Edinburgh but Glasgow versus Leicester is fast becoming one of those big battles in British speedway.
“The atmosphere should be fantastic with the stadium back at full capacity and some really big points on the line.
“My focus is on ensuring we’re the ones coming out on top this time. We came agonisingly close in the 2019 final and it’s important we use that as motivation this weekend.
“It’s our biggest two fixtures of the year so far. Sunday’s result at Newcastle was disappointing so we must bounce back.
“It’s going to be extremely difficult over the course of the two meetings, but I know we are capable of getting the upper hand.”
Eastbourne youngster Tom Brennan guests for the Tigers in both meetings, as a replacement for the injured Ulrich Ostergaard.
